Ruby in Zoisite is a natural stone where ruby forms inside green zoisite, making a truely fantastic pink and green color combination. These stones are rose cut, meaning the face is made up of many small facets that reflect light-making them extra sparkly. The stones are set in a hand fabricated sterling and fine silver setting where the back has been cut out to allow sunlight to pass through the stones. The stones hang from solid sterling silver cast globemallow seed pods. Casting the seed pods is a delicate, tedious task in itself- each is created from a real, very fragile pod from a one time mold, making each casting unique. Then each pod is meticulously matched with its most similar to create a pair. These earings hang from elegant sterling silver leverbacks. Each earring weighs 9 grams and has a total length of 70mm. Signed “EKW” and market “925” for sterling silver. These markings are hand engraved.
